We view all our riders as individuals and as such all our stock geometries are unisex in design – offering 11 finely tuned stock sizes from 50cm to 60cm, with the additional option of a full custom design and build (+£300).

Because every Excel frame is made to order here in our Sussex workshop, we have complete control from start to finish. This allows us to control every step of production, and allows you to fine tune your Excel your way. From custom geometry through to bespoke finishes and more. So if a stock geometry frame doesn’t work for you, we’ll make you one that does, and with careful consideration on components we can further customise every build to ensure the fit is perfect.

We feel that having a frame that fits you perfectly is a critical part of the process. We have over 20 years of bike fitting experience and data to call upon to ensure your riding position is absolute pinpoint. You can make an appointment here for a fitting. No obligation.

Alternatively you can send us any fit data you have or if you have a bike that fits you perfectly, let us know and we can go from there.

Further information on our sizing and frame geometry can be found here.

Opting for an individually crafted frame presents the benefit of total customisation, tailored specifically to match your distinctive style and riding preferences. This flexibility enables the meticulous adjustment of each frame to cater to riders' specific needs, encompassing personalised frame geometry, customised cable routing, the addition of extra eyelets, and the option for unique frame finishes, including bespoke paint designs. Virtually anything is within the realm of possibility.

When considering complete bike purchases, the range of achievable specifications is extensive. If you have a specific vision for your upcoming bike build, just let us know, and we can turn your ideas into reality.

Step 1. Get in touch:

Call, email, or book a visit online by clicking here .

Alternatively, reach out to your local Enigma dealer, who will guide you through the process.

Step 2. Discussion:

To get started, please complete our

This form gathers essential details such as:
-Your personal information (name, address, contact details)
-Riding style
-Bike fit data (if known)
-Objectives and targets

If you don't yet have bike fit data, don’t worry—we can still move forward and gather that information later. Once we have this information, we’ll prepare a CAD drawing of your frame and start discussing your bike’s specifications, including geometry, finish, and components. We will also give you a price based on your preferences.

Step 3. Deposit:

If you're happy to proceed with your order, we will request a deposit of £1000 to confirm your place in the queue and move forward with the build process.

Step 4. Final Sign-Off:

We will send a final copy of your CAD drawing, a mock-up of your finished frame, and our Build Form for your approval. Once signed, your order will proceed directly to the workshop. At this stage, no changes or amendments can be made without incurring additional costs.

The next stage requires a bit of patience! We aim to have your frame completed within 60-90 days, depending on the level of customisation required for the geometry. If you're opting for a full bike build, we'll be busy during this time gathering and ordering all the necessary components. Once your frame is finalised, our mechanics will get to work on the assembly.

Throughout the process, you’ll receive updates from the workshop at key milestones to keep you informed on the progress. Please note that additional time may be needed for any custom paintwork.

When your Enigma is ready for handover, we’ll request payment of the remaining balance. We accept all major debit and credit cards and partner with leading Ride to Work schemes, as detailed below. Please note that some schemes may include a surcharge due to higher commission rates.

To streamline the process, we kindly ask you to confirm your preferred payment method when placing your order, including whether you plan to use a Ride to Work scheme. If you’re paying the full amount through a cycle scheme, your deposit will be refunded once we’ve received the funds from the voucher company.

The Inspiration

The Echelon has been a cornerstone of our Signature lineup, evolving over the years to meet the demands of riders seeking a handcrafted, high-performance titanium road bike made in the UK.

Now refined as a dedicated All-Road model, the Echelon is designed to be your go-to ride for year-round versatility. By accommodating wider tyres and full mudguard compatibility, it seamlessly adapts to varying road conditions and seasons—from fast-paced summer rides to long winter training miles.

This evolution highlights our commitment to crafting exceptional, do-it-all road machines that combine refined titanium engineering, all-day comfort, and uncompromising performance. The Echelon All-Road is built to handle whatever the road throws your way, ensuring a ride that is fast, smooth, and endlessly rewarding.

Our Signature frames are true one-offs—handcrafted to order in Sussex, England.

Built entirely in-house, we have complete control over every stage of production, from expert design and precision frame building to meticulous finishing, painting, and final assembly. Every frame undergoes rigorous quality checks at each step, ensuring it not only meets but surpasses our exacting standards—earning the prestigious Enigma logo.

We take immense pride in our craftsmanship, our dedicated team, and the fact that we are one of the few workshops in the world producing truly bespoke, handcrafted titanium frames.

Every frame bearing the Signature logo is a testament to our commitment to world-class British frame building, proudly made in Sussex.

The Details

Designed with endurance and versatility in mind, the current Echelon blends speed, comfort, and engagement. Its geometry is slightly more relaxed than our Excel and Eikon models, making it ideal for long rides, sportives, and multi-surface road adventures. Full custom geometry is also available, ensuring the perfect fit tailored to your riding style.

The frame features internal cable routing for both mechanical and electronic groupsets, preserving the bike’s sleek, modern profile while protecting cables from the elements. With dedicated cable ports for your chosen groupset—or universal multi-ports for flexibility—the Echelon is designed for seamless integration.

At its core, a custom-machined T47 bottom bracket enhances both stiffness and durability, ensuring a smooth, efficient power transfer. Every frame is handcrafted in England, reflecting our relentless pursuit of excellence in design, craftsmanship, and performance.

Key Features:

Precision Titanium Craftsmanship

Handbuilt in England from a custom Gr9 Ti 3AL 2.5V double-butted tube set, the Echelon offers exceptional ride quality, strength, and longevity. Its dual-pass micro-TIG welded construction ensures a flawless finish that is both elegant and robust

Modern Integration & Performance

Featuring a custom-machined T47 bottom bracket and 44mm head tube, the Echelon is designed for maximum stability and power transfer. Internal cable routing comes as standard, giving the frame a clean, contemporary aesthetic, while maintaining compatibility with modern groupsets.

Versatile All-Road Capability

Built to adapt, the Echelon All-Road supports wider tyre clearance (up to 38mm) and full mudguard compatibility, making it ideal for all-season riding. Whether you’re chasing speed on summer tarmac or tackling wet winter roads, the Echelon is built to perform, mile after mile.

Reviews

Customer Review - Jonathan

"The first project for my Echelon was 1500km of Land's End to John O'Groats ridden unsupported in September 2021. The bike was an absolute joy to ride. Comfortable, fast, responsive, reliable - all in one package! Oh, and it looks fantastic too.

Thank you for all your help and advice during fit and build, and to Jim and Max for getting the bike ready in time for LEJOG"

Customer Review - Kevin

“First proper ride yesterday, 200 Audax, NSW Southern Highlands. Makes a fast and comfortable Audax bike with 35mm Herse Bon Jon Pass Extralight tyres. Those bottle cages are King Ti, but finished by Agave Finish Works in the US. Stupidly expensive but… Extremely happy with it - thanks!!”

Customer Review - Steve

“Finally took my work of art out for its maiden voyage. Wow. The ride is sublime, buttery smooth…handles very nicely…no toe overlap issues and it feels fast – I was comfortably hanging onto the back of one of our Group 1 riders today (I’m normally Group 2). The reach is a bit longer than my other bikes so I might need a 90mm stem but I want to do a thousand k or so before thinking about that – as being a bit more forward will be good for me if I can get used to it (less weight on the sit bones) Oh, and it looks the dogs doodahs! Very happy. Cheers”
